Kids Unplugged Is Finally Here!

Come Join the Fun!

We offer Yoga, Kickboxing, Zumba, Power Hour, and Fuel Right classes. Each child has a chance to get their energy out in a FUN and creative way all while getting a wonderful mind and body workout. Each class offers participants the opportunity to express themselves through movement and fun hands-on experiences that will contribute to a healthy lifestyle.  Each fitness and health class is designed for children in two age groups: Recruit Level (4-6-year-olds) and Core Level (6-13-year-olds).

Note: Each session has two built in water breaks AND at any point in which a participant needs to take a break, get some water, or just refocus, they are always permitted.

Fuel Right

Fuel Right is Kids Unplugged’s nutrition program. We incorporate Fuel Right into each and every fitness class. During this time, our nutritionist plays games, tells stories, and discusses the importance of fueling our bodies the right way. We introduce new terms to the kids and ask them to share their fueling habits with us.

Our Fuel Right Switch-er-oo program is a favorite. A Switch-er-oo is when kids make a healthy choice over an unhealthy choice, records it, and shares it with the KU staff. Every 10 Switch-er-oos recorded and signed by a parent is exchanged for a reward.

We know that health is largely nutrition, which is why we incorporate Fuel Right into every fitness class we give!

Zumba® Kids

Grab your friends and dance like no one’s watching! Our one-hour Zumba® Kids class is the kid friendly, dance-fitness party crafted just for children and pre-teens.

Join us as we dance to international rhythms, ranging from Salsa to Hip Hop and even Bollywood.  Each class is packed full of fun, beginning with a greeting and warm up, basic follow along songs, the breakdown of choreography for a new dance and a performance and cool down at the end.  The best part is that you don’t even have to know how to dance – all you need is a positive attitude and you will be able to move your body and follow the instructor.  You are guaranteed to have a blast!

Power Hour

Take Power Hour with Kids Unplugged and have one of the most fun hours of your life!

This course is crafted for kids at each level. During this hour you will be doing body weight activities using every muscle group you have. Arms, legs, core, back, you name it, we will show you exercises to strengthen them all just using you and your energy – no equipment necessary!

We want to teach you how to take care of your muscles in the best way possible, so each hour will include 15 minutes of cool-down stretching and reflection.

Muay Thai Kickboxing

Our one-hour kickboxing class is crafted for kids at each level. This invigorating one hour work-out session is not only incredibly fun and exciting for the students participating, but guarantees one of the most high-energy hours of exercise he/she has ever experienced. Though this class is centered around the popular martial art “Muay Thai,” this class does not glorify violence and is not aimed to train a student for competition.

This class consists of group sessions that ensure your student receives the high level of physical intensity targeted.The “Mindful” aspect of this class allows the student to realize that invigorating exercise is a path to a both mental and physical relaxed state necessary to learn or socialize in a stress-free environment. “Mindful Muay Thai” consists of a ten-minute check period, the kickboxing work-out itself, and meditative cool-down period at the end to leave your child in a state of calmness. This class will build confidence, and will introduce your child to alternative forms of athleticism.

Our one-hour yoga practice is crafted just for kids at each level.

Come join us and learn the correct positions, form, etiquette, deep-breathing techniques, and position transitions all while having fun! Each practice includes 10-15 minutes of a cool-down guided meditation practice at the end. We will teach you how to practice yoga on your own in order to stay calm and relaxed during those times of high stress.

This one-hour class is designed just for kids in and around kindergarten (ages 4-6). During this class we will introduce kindergarten-age kids to a variety of skill building activities revolving around flexibility, balance, agility, strength, and community.

The purpose of this class is to give them time to get their wiggles out after school, interact with new kids, build motor skills, begin to form healthy exercise habits, and learn the basics about healthy eating.

These kindergarteners will also be introduced to all of the other classes we offer (Yoga, Zumba®, Power Hour, Kickboxing) little by little to help them find an interest in a new FUN form of exercise.

Pro Training Courses

Our Pro courses are for those who are interested in developing leadership skills and keep up an active lifestyle. We will train you on our five courses and how to assist in them. Each member in our Pro group will not be assisting in the exact same way, they will identify their strengths and challenges and we will help them develop their own appropriate methods of support. For example, if we have a Pro member who is interested in leading a Zumba® routine, we will help them achieve that goal.

When they feel ready to get up in front of a class and lead with our professionals, we will support them in doing that. If we have a Pro member who is talented with our core group and uninterested in assisting in Recruit classes, we will support them in developing their skills with the Core group. There are endless possibilities as a Pro member!
